Launch of the net zero visions mural in uplowman & Halberton primary schools

Halberton and Uplowman Schools took part in creating their own Net Zero Visions Murals. Inspired by the mural in Tiverton created by Sustainable Tiverton, Devon Climate Emergency, and Plymouth University, the idea was to recreate something similar in a rural setting, acknowledging the importance of inspiring children to get involved. Funded by Plymouth University, each school worked with a local artist to settle on a design that encapsulated their ideas. The question posed to the children was “What would your village look like if it were Net Zero?.” Download the full report here

cOMBINING Education AND art to create impact

The Net Zero Visions project delivered mural workshops in schools across Devon. This proved a fantastic way to educate children about the climate change emergency, about the importance of taking action, and about how to communicate through art and collaborate with others.

“One of the obvious things about a mural is that it can completely transform a space. Can lighten and brighten formally obscure or gray corners and backdrops that were practically invisible to the people walking about. It can make a place happier and more attractive and also get people talking about the places and about the ideas depicted within the mural.”
